Are you looking to buy a home or condo in a senior neighborhood in Southern Oregon? There are now more choices as there are a number of new subdivisions that are for the age 55 and older age group. Many people like living in an area of residents in their own age group. The perception is it will be quieter. But also in a new subdivision especially homes are built to help seniors age in place. This means the homes are one level (or elevators) and have other features for accessibility.
Some seniors may need or prefer more of an assisted living situation. But many prefer the comfort and privacy of their own home.
Have you looked at our senior housing section on our website? We also have a senior resource page. We list Estate attornies, organizations for seniors and disabled and more. We also have a number of videos on our resource page of special interest to seniors.
If you are looking for something affordable there are a number of seniors only mobile home parks. Or for something in between there is the Meadows in Central Point. This is an 55 & older community with modular homes where you own your own lot. You pay a small association fee of $130 (currently). The community has two clubhouses, a pool, walking trails. Currently prices are in the 300k range. You have a similar set up in Allen Creek Estates in Grants Pass.
In Ashland you have Mountain Meadows with homes in the half million range. Condos are more affordable at 200k or so. Though dues are higher as you have many specialty senior services available.
