Eagle Point is a community of about 9,260 people per the city website. This is considered to be a primary growth area for Jackson County. During 2000 to 2007 the population doubled! It is known as the Gateway to the lakes as it's on the route to see Crater Lake and the Southern Cascade Range. They are 6 miles northeast of Medford along State Highway 62 and 10 miles northeast of Interstate 5.
The city of Eagle Point has worked to preserve their history. The relocated a "gueenpost truss" covered bridge to Little Butte Creek. This is a walkway for children going to school. They also feature a water powered grist mill, complete with 130 yr old French quarried buhr stones. This is a National Register of Historic Attractions place.
They also have a 18 hole, par 72 course Golf Course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.. It is ranked as the sixth best publicly accessible golf course in Oregon.
