Shady Cove, Oregon

 is a city in Jackson County, Oregon. The population is 2904 taken from the 2010 Census. This is an incorporated town. It is 21 miles to Medford and 30 miles north of the California border.  The town is on both sides of the Rogue River. There is both rafting and all season fishing - salmon and steelhead. There are a number of Rafting companies in Shady Cove.

Trail, Oregon 

is a town in Jackson County in Southern Oregon. It is just north of Shady Cove.  It is at the intersection of Oregon Routes 227and 62. It is located near the Trail Creek mouth of the Rogue River. This also is a 4 season recreational area, near the upper Rogue River .

There is a Trail Creek museum that features pioneer history - the upper Rogue Historical Society's Trail Creek Museum. It is in  former tavern.
Cole M Rivers Fish Hatchery - raises 3.7 million spring Chinook, Rainbow Trout, Steelhead,Coho. It is the largest hatchery in Oregon. You can also raft the Rogue, fish onthe banks, sign up with one of the outfitters. There are also old logging roads, and 150  miles of well groomed snowmobile trails for some incredible scenary or go to Crater Lake. It is also a popular area for photography.
